Where Clay becomes Story

Bosch Ceramic Art Studio is a South African studio rooted in fine art, symbolism, and slow craft. Founded by Anton and Hanlie Bosch, the studio brings together painting and pottery - shaping vessels, figurines, and wall pieces that speak of nature, memory, and meaning.

Anton Bosch

Anton Bosch is a South African ceramic artist whose work blends painting and clay into a unified, expressive practice. With a background in fine art and a lifelong connection to nature, he creates symbolic sculptural vessels, wall tiles, and porcelain forms. Birds, leaves, chameleons, and human figures appear across his surfaces like quiet stories told through glaze and line.

Combining a painter’s intuition with the discipline of a potter, Anton’s ceramics reflect both technical precision and emotional depth. His forms invite viewers to pause, observe closely, and discover meaning in simplicity.

His work has been exhibited across South Africa and internationally, including at the Keramion Museum in Germany, and is held in both public and private collections.

"Everyone can find their own meaning in what I am trying to express." - Anton Bosch

Hanlie Bosch

Hanlie Bosch is a ceramic artist working at the intersection of sculpture and painting. With a background in fine art and a deep sensitivity to form, she creates hand-built pieces that explore emotion through gesture, expression, and movement. Her figurines, dancers, and clay heads carry both tenderness and complexity, often blending playfulness with introspection.

Her work includes colourful wall tiles, decorated vessels, and sculptural pieces that reveal quiet narratives. Known for her ability to capture human connection and spirit in clay, Hanlie’s ceramics are as evocative as they are tactile.

Each piece invites pause, reflection, and a sense of shared humanity.
